is a non-profit organization. We are also listed as 501(c) 3 with the Federal Government. This means we can accept donations from persons, businesses and corporations and they can write off that donation on their tax returns. Our Primary fundraiser is a 3 on 3 basketball tournament which takes place every August (August 13 & 14, 2011) at the Jewish Community Center on Manor Road.

Richard Willis was a community leader through out Staten Island but especially the Grant City and Midland beach areas. He was a devoted husband, father of 5 sons and grandfather to 15 grandchildren. The thing that sets him apart from most was that he donated much of his time at helping other peoples children. He would keep the local gymnasium open for kids and teens to have a place to play basketball and keep out of trouble. He coached basketball, baseball and started up a soccer program at St. Christophers. He was President of the St.Christophers Sports Program and Holy Name Society for many years and he also donated his time to the religious education of children.

This groups purpose is to raise money for educational scholarships in memory of Richard Willis and to distribute these scholarships to worthy children in the Staten Island Community. We also donate a portion of our funds to the St. Margaret Mary's Sports program where Richard finished his coaching career. This enables them to keep the sports program operational. We have recently added The Grace Foundation, a worthy group of volunteers and families that support SI children with Autism, to our list of organizations that we support. The Richard Willis Memorial has been in existence for 15 years and have distributed all our funds back to the children of the SI community. Our group is comprised of volunteers who care about our SI communities' children.
